Hey everyone

I've performed a massive upgrade today to the forum, gallery and other content.
It will look very different and I know we've got a boring skin on the forum now but we are looking out for something nice so hopefully wont be long til we can customize it to our own liking.

If you experience any problems please let me know here,
Thanks!

Hey guys,

I thought I would add another forum. I've recently been watching a series on the crime channel called 'Disappeared.'
And it just gave me the idea to add a 'Missing' forum on site where members can post about cases they have happened to come across, with missing posters/images, info, etc.
I know we used to have the Amber Alert on site and just thought that this was another way to get people to view missing persons and to get things out there. I'm sure the families of these people would much appreciate having their loved ones cases spread around as much as possible.

Just an idea.

P.S- It's within the True Crime open discussion forums. I cannot post a link here because for some reason when I do a smiley keeps appearing in it, lol.

Thanks

NEW Rare photos of JonBenet

In the past month, it's been reported to me TWICE that Quinn's photo is still being distributed around the web for "JonBenet fashion" sites and Photobucket accounts. I have tried numerous times to contact this person to remove the image, I was able to get one person's "fashion site" account shut down and I am still working on the Photobucket one. I will still continue to report this person to TOS for "Stolen/Unauthorized photo" until something IS done about this. This is flat out disrespectful and betrayal of one's trust/generosity, if this doesn't get through some people's heads, I don't know what else will. What part don't some people understand about showing respect for other people's property? I never really found out who gave the photo outside this site to begin with, but I have strong suspicions - some members have already been banned and I really don't want to ban another.

You would think by now people would know not to use that photo yet I do not understand what part of "Please do not use the photo for so and so" they do not understand - once I find out who this current person is, they will be banned, no exceptions. We have guidelines here and they will be followed, this is getting too much lately in terms of stealing, etc. and something NEEDS to be done about this. I know "it's the Internet" but as a website/forum, we don't take that into consideration - there are Rules here, this is a private community and we strive hard to keep it private, whatever is posted on here/written on here, STAYS on here - if people sign up here to become a member and participate in discussions, etc, they are expected to follow the Rules set up for this site - and one of them is "no stealing of any kind." If they cannot follow the Rules and like to act like they are above the Rules, then they will be banned, it's that simple.

The Gallery does not really contain anything "rare" (at least nothing since it's been closed) - it's pretty much what everyone has seen over the years, but for those who are "newer" members may be in for a treat. I have a new idea for rare photos, read on....

Here's the latest plan to help curb the stealing of any future, rare images of JonBenet:

I personally have some rare images to share of JonBenet and I now that I have an idea that I feel may work, I am even more willing to share. One member told me about making a section of the forum with exclusive access for members with a certain post count, that's a good idea, but I am not sure if that's possible, but the idea I had in mind was:

For each member we give out the photo(s) to will have their own "watermark" and I will keep record on who's watermark belongs to who - so if I ever find the images outside their hands, they will be banned - without warning. This is as tight as we can get around here, and hopefully people will think twice about "banned" members, etc. begging the daylights out of others for any rare photos - please don't give out the images and risk your membership here, I'll eventually find out and I REALLY would not want that for anyone. We have a wonderful group of members here and I would hate to see one banned because they couldn't follow the Rules. Plus, think of this as a great way to keep your "trustworthiness" in check.

These photos I want to share are not to be given out to ANYONE, used for videos or graphics of any kind or be used for your personal JonBenet site. They are to stay on your hard drive only and for your eyes only.

This isn't because I don't trust anyone here, I do, but since this stealing is getting out of hand, I don't feel I have much of a choice, if you want to thank anyone for this new precaution, you can thank those who felt it wouldn't matter if they took images, etc. and used them without permission, and Quinn's photo violation was the last straw for me.

It may be harsh, but I cannot emphasize this enough - a member was very kind enough and trusted us greatly by sharing a personal photo of JonBenet with us and I posted a Warning in her post that very same day asking people not use the image - and to please remember who this person is - and respect that person. I felt I made the Warning pretty clear, but apparently it didn't apply to those that took the photo anyway for their personal gain. They should be ashamed of themselves, really, and I still feel terrible that some people betrayed Quinn like that, they have no consideration and and don't seem to care about who the photo belongs to or what their intentions were - they just thought "OMG I gotta save this for my newest video/graphic/JonBenet site!" or "Who cares? No one will know it was me that took it" - believe me, people tell me things, I have "watch dogs" lol, so eventually I DO find out who these people are - and I'll take care them pretty well. I cannot imagine how Quinn must feel, either. Think about it and stand in that person's shoes for a moment.

I will start sharing the images I have via PM only.

Anyone with any future rare images to share are to contact Kirsty or I - or e-mail us at: remembering.jonbenet(a)gmail.com and we will discuss things. This is the only way things like this will remain private and things will be at ease for that person and for everyone else here.
